8 All-Natural DIY Face Mask Recipes
As more and more people are choosing to live a more natural life, they’re looking to change up old habits, and this includes their beauty routine. Face masks are a great way to pamper yourself right at home, without spending a fortune going to the spa. Commercially produced face masks are still a cheaper alternative to the spa, but many can still cost big bucks, and they can contain chemicals and pharmaceutical ingredients that some people would rather avoid putting on their face.
The answer to this is easy, and just involves a little DIY. With a few simple ingredients you can make a variety of all-natural face masks to make your skin, and yourself feel gorgeous! Here are eight all-natural DIY face mask recipes you can make yourself…
1. Anti-aging Wine Mask
1/4 cup white wine
1/4 cup kaolin clay
2 tablespoons grapeseed oil
1 tablespoon organic oat flour
Wine lovers are likely familiar with the fact that wine contains natural antioxidants, and these benefits are not only good for your insides, but also your outside! Resveratrol is the powerful antioxidant ingredient in this face mask that will help smooth wrinkles and fine lines. The kaolin clay can be found at health stores and draws out impurities in the skin. The grapeseed oil will moisturize, while the oat flour will act as a mild exfoliant. The make the mask, mix all ingredients in a small bowl until you have a chunky paste. Apply to face and neck, allow to dry for 10 minutes, then rinse with warm water.
2. Hydrating Strawberry Mask
10 fresh strawberries
1/4 cup bee pollen
3 tablespoons raw honey
1 tablespoon olive oil mayonnaise
a few drops of lavender essential oil
Berries are jam-packed full of amazing nutrients and strawberries are high in vitamin C and alpha hydroxy acids which exfoliate your skin. Combined with exfoliating bee pollen (available at health food stores), and moisturizing honey and olive oil, you can be sure this mask will deliver maximum moisture to your skin. The mayonnaise gives the whole mask a creamy, silky texture and the lavender oil provides relaxing aromatherapy. To make this mask, mash the strawberries with a potato masher in a bowl until there are no large chunks. Then add in all other ingredients and mix until smooth. Apply to face, avoiding the eye area and allow to sit for 20 minutes, then rinse with warm water. Note** If you’re allergic to bees, make sure you omit the bee pollen in this recipe.
3. Skin Brightening Beer Mask

1/2 cup beer (any brand will work)
2 teaspoons fresh lime juice
Wine isn’t the only alcoholic beverage that can provide skin-boosting benefits, beer is actually a skin soothing cleanser! It’s also filled with yeast and vitamin B which helps dissolve dead skin cells, improving your skins luminosity. The egg white provides hydrating moisture to help improve your skins elasticity, while the lime juice, rich in vitamin C, will help clear clogged pores and improve the appearance of dark spots. All these benefits from one bubbly beverage! To make this mask, beat the egg white lightly until frothy. Add the beer and lime juice and mix. This mask helps get everything back in check, all with a little help from a vibrant green powder. Spirulina is a type of blue-green algae used as a natural health supplement. It has antibacterial properties and contains more antioxidants than blueberries meaning it can help reduce fine lines and wrinkles and reverse damage from the sun. This mask is designed to help smooth and soothe rough, dry skin using oatmeal, a natural skin calming ingredient. Combined with moisturizing honey and the revitalizing power of greek yogurt and this mask will soothe even the most irritated skin. To make this mask, combine the oatmeal with the hot water and stir until it’s plumped and soft. Add the honey and yogurt and pour the entire mixture into a blender. 7. Manly Man Mask
1/2 a cucumber
1-2 tablespoons greek yogurt
Anyone who believes face masks are just for women should think again. This soothing, moisturizing face mask recipe will work wonders for even the manliest of men. Guys have a tendency to ignore their skin health and as a result, they can end up with rough, dry or damaged skin. Plus daily shaving can leave men with redness and irritating razor burn. Cucumber has a natural calming and cooling effect and can reduce redness while providing necessary moisture along with the greek yogurt. To make the mask, peel, seed and chop the cucumber, then put through a food processor until it’s a pulpy puree. Mix in the greek yogurt by hand and spread evenly over face and neck. Allow to rest for 10-20 minutes (feel free to place some cucumber slices over your eyes for a real ‘spa experience’) then rinse with warm water. Of course women are welcome to try this mask as well.
