10 Actors/Actresses No One Wants To Work With

Even the glamorous actors of Hollywood cannot always be counted on to pull through for the directors and producers who are depending on them. When you make millions of dollars, you’d think some of these actors and actresses would want to make things easy and get along. But, alas! This list takes a look at certain Hollywood stars who notoriously difficult to work with!

10. Shia LeBeouf

Oh Shia LeBeouf! You could have had it all! But instead your erratic behavior is the interest of the tabloids, not A-list producers! The Transformers star has been arrested for public intoxication, allegedly head-butted a man in a London pub, chased a homeless man for his McDonald’s, and has taken to streaming videos of himself watching his own movies. The straw that broke the camel’s back and reputation was when he showed up to the premiere of Nymphomaniac with a paper bag on his head that said, “I’m not famous anymore.” While he’s interesting to watch on the pages of the magazines, he’s earned himself a reputation that has brought his career almost to a standstill.

9. Shannen Doherty

Shannen Doherty has a reputation in Hollywood for being a notoriously demanding actor. Rumors have swirled that she and Aaron Spelling did not get along on the set of Beverly Hills 90210, which had fans surprised when he cast her in Charmed. Her departure from the show has become something of legend. Spelling is said to have banned her from all future projects, and this diva reputation has stuck with her. The reportedly difficult actress has only appeared in B-films and television pilots since.

8. Russell Crowe

Russell Crowe’s reputation was solidified by his behavior off set at a hotel in New York. The Australian actor was trying to call his wife and, when he couldn’t get a hold of her, he threw the phone in the hotel clerk’s face! Obviously the injured employee called the cops and the actor was charged with two felonies, and this wasn’t the first physical altercation the actor gained a reputation for. This fiery reputation has certainly not made the film-roles pour in and Crowe’s appearance in A-list flicks has diminished substantially.

7. Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay Lohan had a successful acting and music career before things turned south for her. After starring in flicks such as Freaky Friday and Mean Girls, Lohan’s partying created a media frenzy with several public arrests and stints in rehab. Her behavior got her kicked off various sets and fired from numerous projects, and when she failed to launch a career in reality television, it seemed all was lost. Many think Lohan could be making a comeback, however, and she recently released a Christmas film with Netflix.

6. Charlie Sheen

Charlie Sheen’s public meltdown did not make him many friends in Hollywood! His incomprehensible rants included a direct slamming of Two and a Half Men creator, chuck Lorre. This behavior got him fired from the successful show, but not all was lost for Sheen. He made a relatively successful transition to Anger Management, although his co-star, Selma Blair, was quite vocal about Sheen’s unprofessionalism. His erratic behavior has crushed his public image and only time will tell if he’s able to procure A-list roles!

5. Christian Bale

Christian Bale is another actor who has become known for being difficult to work with. A leaked rant from the set of Terminator: Salvation, revealed The Dark Night star getting angry with an assistant that had walked into the scene while filing. He went so far as to insist the crew member be fired! Between this incident and an arrest for assaulting his own family members in a hotel, Bale’s reputation in Hollywood was sealed.

4. Amanda Bynes

Unfortunately for Amanda Bynes’ fans, this leading lady has had her fair of troubles in Hollywood. After legal issues ensued in 2012-2013, the She’s the Man starlet spiraled down a dark path. After several arrests and stints in rehab, Bynes has been forced to retire from acting. Her last acting role was in Easy A in 2010, and months later, Bynes announced an indefinite hiatus from acting. She was placed under a temporary conservatorship in 2013, and recently spoke out to try to end it.

3. Katherine Heigl

Katherine Heigl has earned quite the reputation for herself for being difficult to work with! Grey’s Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes actually turned Katherine’s last name into an adjective when explaining why her new show Scandal is running so smoothly: “There are no Heigls in this situation.” Heigl has been questioned about her behavior on set and she explained, “I would never go out of my way or consciously try to hurt anyone’s feelings or make them feel bad or uncomfortable or not be my professional, do my job, I like my job.”

2. Bruce Willis

It’s such a disappointment to learn that this Die Hard star has been anything shy of awesome, but Bruce Willis has been publicly called out by Cop Out director, Kevin Smith. Smith described working with Willis as “soul crushing” and the leading man himself as “unhappy,” “mean,” and “bitter.” Smith was so perturbed by his experience with Willis that he used every means necessary to make his feelings known. An entire chapter of his memoir Tough Sh*t is dedicated to explaining where his bitterness for Willis comes from. He stated that Willis “fostered an unpleasant and unproductive working environment whenever on set.”

1. Edward Norton

Edward Norton may be responsible for bringing down The Incredible Hulk, and that is no small feat! Super hero movies are normally successful blockbuster hits, but Norton’s insistence on script re-writes and arguments with producers over the film’s running time and end product wreaked havoc on the production. The feud was very public and Universal’s Adam Fogleson was forced to plan a promotional tour that avoided awkward media interviews regarding the feud. For all the extra leg-work, the film was a flop and Edward Norton’s projects have been limited ever since.
