1. Choose your treats discerningly

Make a silent deal with yourself not to squander precious calories on Christmas dishes, snacks, and treats that you don’t honestly salivate over. For instance, I love shortbread cookies, so instead of wasting my calories on truffles and spinach dip at my office holiday pot luck, I enjoy a few pieces of shortbread and consider my holiday hankering satisfied for a few days.
