Foods That Help Build Muscle


2. Chicken

Chicken, like beef, is high in protein and low in fat. That makes it an ideal food in building, maintaining, and repairing muscle affected by a muscle-building program. The high-quality protein in chicken is also helpful in enhancing bone health and maintaining a healthy body weight.

Of course, the key is to prepare your chicken in a healthy way. Try to avoid deep frying it; instead, grill it on the BBQ or in a pan with a small amount of olive or canola oil. Also, be sure to remove the fatty skin.
