Kidney Failure

The role of the kidneys is to remove waste products and toxins from the bloodstream, and when they have become too weak or damaged to do so, the condition is known as kidney failure or renal failure. Genetic factors and kidney disease lead to chronic kidney failure, while acute kidney failure can be triggered by a traumatic injury, accident or a situation in which the patient’s system becomes saturated with toxins. Symptoms vary, but typically include swollen limbs and extremities, abnormal heartbeat, brittle bones, nausea, weight loss, diarrhea, fatigue and weakness, back pain, difficulty concentrating, loss of memory, low blood pressure, insomnia and changes in skin color.
