Cardiac failure, commonly called heart failure, is a serious medical condition in which the heart is unable to pump enough blood to the rest of the body. Failure may be confined to either the left side or the right side of the heart; in such cases, acute symptoms will appear on the appropriate side of the body. General symptoms of heart failure include sudden dizziness and weakness, confusion, disorientation and sudden drops in blood pressure which can lead to loss of consciousness. A person suffering from heart failure must seek immediate medical attention, as the condition can be fatal without medical interventions.
