1. El exceso de azúcar causa diabetes

Aunque el sobrepeso contribuye a la aparición de la diabetes tipo 2, la idea de que consumir demasiada azúcar causa la enfermedad es una tontería. Consumir demasiada azúcar es peligroso para los dientes y la cintura, pero no causa diabetes tipo 2. La incapacidad del cuerpo para producir una hormona llamada insulina (que es segregada por el páncreas) es la causa de la diabetes tipo 2. Esta ineficiencia significa que el cuerpo es incapaz de descomponer los alimentos en la energía necesaria para alimentar las células.
